The Brazilian government is taking steps to make investing in real estate in Rio de Janeiro and other parts of the country more attractive.

Dow Jones Newswires reports it intends to improve the transparency of real estate funds, which have been rising in popularity as the nation's property market and wider economy grow.

They are generally used to purchase commercial properties in cities such as Rio and Sao Paulo and the current administration is looking to make the funds - known as Breifs - easier to understand for potential investors.

Under new rules, funds would need to announce when the values of their properties change and investors are anticipating the alterations to result in a wider secondary market for the trading of Breif shares, an activity that is not widespread at present.

The move could make Brazil a more attractive prospect for overseas investors and Chris Hunter of Alternative Asset Analysis recently remarked that the country has greater potential than other members of the Bric economic group China, Russia and India. for Brazilian Property Investments - Connecting you DIRECTLY to the Property Seller; Brazilian Developer | Owner or the Selling Agent!!
